Joan Ford's been obsessed with photography ever since she was a kid, dragging a chair over to the china cabinet at her grandparent's house so she could reach the photo albums stored on top of it, then thumbing through the black and white images like she was holding the moments themselves. Holding moments - that pretty much sums up Joan's philosophy as a photographer. Catching time. Capturing a feeling.

And, though she was trained at the Art Institute of Philadelphia and has been making award winning photography for over 30 years, those experiences aren't necessarily the ones that inform her work. It's the simpler stuff - growing up a military brat, staying up late to watch old black & white movies as a kid, eating too much Thai food, juggling motherhood and a career (some days better than others) and cycling on country roads near her home just outside of Philadelphia. That's the lens Joan looks through, and why she lives by the wise words of Wayne Gretzky " You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take."

Originally a Philadelphia girl, Joan is based just over the bridge in Marlton, New Jersey and has studio access in South Jersey and Pennsylvania. Primarily a location photographer, Joan's bags are always packed!
